Polish of the Week: Rimmel Salon Pro 701 Jazz Funk

This has got to be one of my favourite nail polish purchases of the year (big call I know!). The nail Polish is question is Rimmel London's Salon Pro in Jazz Funk. To me it's the perfect pink. It's a true pink that applies opaque in two coats. This range from Rimmel is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Application is easy, the colour is rich and the drying time isn't long at all. I picked it up on sale at Priceline with 20% off making it around $7. If you are looking for a pink that's perfect for spring/summer I highly recommend this one!

What are some of your favourite pink nail polishes?

Polish of the Week: Bourjois Anti-Choc No Chips #17

I'm back at you all with a polish of the week post! These posts disappeared for awhile as I went through an "I don't feel like wearing nail polish" faze, but it seems like this faze has passed because I'm currently thinking of my next nail polish that I want to wear as I type this!

The polish of the week this week is Bourjois Anti-Choc No Chips in #17. I feel like this is the perfect festive colour. If you've never tried these nail polishes before you wouldn't be familiar with the applicator. The applicator is angled which can be tricky at first to apply but makes the whole process a lot easier once you get the hang of it. The polish is opaque in one coat; however, 2 coats brings out the true colour and shine.

What's on your nails this week?

Polish of the Week: Essie Tangerine

Essie Tangerine is a bright red/coral colour that is perfect for summer. You could get away with one coat, but I used two for good measure. If you're interested in picking up some Essie nail polishes, Priceline has a special going on at the moment where you get 2 for $20. It's a great deal that finishes November 6th, so I would scurry on over if you were interested!

Polish of the Week: Ulta 3 Nail Colour Burnt Orange

This week I chose a burnt orange nail polish. The weather here in Melbourne is calling for the autumn/winter colours since it’s raining, cold and wet. Where are you spring?! I chose my Ulta3 Nail Colour in Burnt Orange. This is such an affordable brand with the nailpolishes only setting you back $2.00. I’m not going to lie, they have some horrendous colours, but if you sift through I’m sure you’ll find some gems. This bottle in particular is opaque in 1 coat. They dry quickly however, chip within 2 days. For the price though, they are definitely worth it.

Polish of the Week: Kiko Nail Polish 336 Electric Blue

Polish of the week is credit to my friend who recently returned from Italy and gifted this to me. I was so excited because we don't have access to Kiko Make Up here. She chose an amazing colour for me which is Kiko Nail Lacquer in 336 Electric Blue. It is the perfect name for this polish as it is a royal blue colour. It applied streaky with the first coat, but was opaque in two coats. I think I'm obsessed with this colour already. It's so striking! I think it would look amazing on the toes too.

Have you tried Kiko nail polishes before? If so, what are your favourites?

Polish of the Week: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White-On

Apologies for the slight hiatus everyone. I've been interstate for a conference this past week, but I'm back in Melbourne town now and will resume to be 3 posts a week schedule this week! I'm coming at you with another Polish of the Week post.

I have succumbed to the white nail polish trend. On my nails is Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Nail Colour in White On. I'll be frank and say it's not the best nail polish in terms of application. You need 3 coats to get a nice opaque white. The photo above is 2 coats and you can see it's still slightly streaky and could do with another. It's so different to Pacific Blue in the same line which is opaque in 2 and not streaky at all. Nevertheless, for the price ($6.95) I can deal.

Hope you all have had a lovely week! If you're in Adelaide or Melbourne.. I hope you didn't get blown away by the winds earlier this week!

Polish of the Week: Kester Black Peach Melba

I was over at my friend's house and being the nosey parker that I am, a teensy tiny raid of her beauty stash happened. She's not as into make-up; however, loves skincare and nail polish. The evening turned out to be a small pamper session with three of my really good friends. It included the Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser (oh my! That stuff is luxurious!), lashings of oils (Argan Oil in my case), and redoing my nails. She had quite a few nail polish brands but the one that intrigued me the most was Kester Black

Kester Black is an Australian brand of nail polish founded by Anna Roos. It's not just any brand though, it is a cruelty free, carcinogen free and vegan brand. They "use sustainable production methods including the use of recyclable materials and small batch manufacturing to minimise wastage". Not only are they environmentally friendly and use carcinogen free materials, but their nail polish is absolutely amazing. I'm talking like.. I want to go out and purchase multiple bottles of the stuff amazing.

The colour pictured above is Kester Black Peach Melba (with a some OPI glitter nail polish on my fourth finger). That photo above is one coat! I was so pleasantly surprised when I applied it. It was easy to apply and opaque in one coat (even though it's a lighter colour). It lasted for longer than usual on my nails but I'm not sure whether it was the polish, the top coat I used (Butter London) or a combination of both.

I highly recommended this nail polish brand. It's $17 for a bottle which is not the cheapest nail polish you can get, but considering Essie is $18.95 and OPI is $19.95 here it's not too bad!

Have you tried Kester Black before?

Polish of the Week: Essie Merino Cool

Priceline is now stocking Essie and had an introductory offer of $12.95 (ends tomorrow 23/9), instead of the $18.95 standard price here in Australia. I took advantage of it and  chose Essie Merino Cool. It's a greyish purple that is opaque in two coats. This colour was perfect for the gloomy weather that we had in Melbourne this week!

Polish of the Week: Inglot Nail Polish in 163

Another Inglot nail polish this week but this time in a light pink shade with a slight metallic sheen. This nail polish is the Inglot Nail Polish in 163 and the colour reminds me of fairy floss. Although the picture doesn't show it, the pink is quite subtle from afar. I like it because you can get away with it looking "neutral" at work. This was opaque in 2 coats but I applied 3 for good measure. I found that the pink really came through on the third coat. It was streaky after 1 coat, but I expect that with lighter shades. Really loving my Inglot nail polishes at the moment. They have been a little unloved, so it was high time I whipped them out again!
