Topshop Sale Pickups

I skipped over to Topshop on the weekend and was happy to find that they were having a sale. I noticed Zara were also having a sale, but everything I liked was not available in my size *sigh*. Now, I didn't pick up a lot from Topshop (only 2 items in fact), but I am currently saving up for my trip to Japan at the end of the year and might have possibly placed an order on Look Fantastic AND Feel Unique the night before. A couple of hair care and skin care items are on their last legs so it was time to replenish them. Look out for a product empties post soon!

So let's start of with the makeup item I purchased. Isn't she pretty?! I posted awhile ago that I loved the cream blush in 'Acting Up' from Topshop which is a bright orange, so when I saw this cream blush in 'Sneakpeek' I had to have it. Plus, it was $5.00! I was definitely chuffed with this purchase. It's a hot pink which blends seamlessly into the skin and the fact that it's in stick form means that it's quick and easy for those rushed mornings.  

The next item was definitely a great deal. I picked this jumper up for $28.00 from $96.00 making it almost 75% off. Now, I would never pay $100 for this, but at $28.00 it is definitely more reasonable. This jumper is going to be perfect for those casual chilly winter days which Melbourne is experiencing right now. I swear if it wasn't so damn windy it wouldn't be that cold! Throw on some jeans, ankle boots and a coat and you're good to go.

Topshop Cream Blushes

Topshop Cream Blushes are a new addition to my makeup collection. I first purchased 'Flushed' which is the one in the pan pictured above and wrote about it in a shopping haul post I did. I was definitely impressed with it after several uses that when I paid Topshop about a week or two later I did a sneaky purchase and bought 'Acting Up' which is in the stick form PLUS it was on sale for only $9 (usually $20). 

'Flushed' is a bright almost neon pink that looks scary in the pan but once applied and blended in, it leaves a lovely pink glow flush to the cheeks. 'Acting Up' on the other hand is a straight up bright orange which I also love. Both forms of blushes have great pigmentation that also allow you to build the colour intensity on your cheeks to whatever your heart desires.

The lasting power of both these blushes is amazing. I find that they last for a good 5 hours on my cheeks if I don't set it with a powder blush, and if I do.. well those suckers will be there until I whip out my Bioderma and take off my makeup for the day!

Both blush forms are easy to use; however, if I had to choose one for 'ease of use' I'd choose the stick form. All it takes for me to apply this blush in the morning is to swipe the product once directly on each cheek then blend in with either my brush or fingers (both will work wonderfully). With the blush in the pan form I usually take my clean fingers dip it in the product and then blend it in with either my fingers or brush. I don't know why but I also feel like the stick form is more sanitary and is definitely less messy in the morning.

In terms of colour, I have been loving 'Flushed' and have been sporting this on my cheeks most days of the week. However, during winter I usually lean towards the pink blushes anyway and during the summer I lean towards the coral/orangey blushes so I can definitely see my colour favourite change once the weather heats up!

My favourite brush to use to blend in these blushes has been the Real Techniques 'Contour Brush'. All in all I love these blushes. I much prefer the packaging of 'Acting Up' but right now the colour of 'Flushed' is more up my alley. I did spy a pink blush in the stick form at the store that wasn't on sale.. but am now considering even though I shouldn't buy anymore! *step away Topshop...step away from Topshop*

A little spot of shopping...

I have never been to Highpoint Shopping Centre...until last Sunday! It was renovated a couple of years ago and you can definitely tell between the "new" and "old" sections,  unlike Westfield Doncaster Shopping Centre. When they renovated that shopping centre the whole centre was redone and therefore you can't tell between the "new and "old" sections. It leads to a more appealing shopping experience. But renovations aside, let's move on to more interesting things! Firstly, lets start off with my outfit, which I also posted on Instagram (yourdailybreak).

When I go shopping I like a fuss-free simple outfit that is easy to change out and in of in the change rooms. There's nothing worse than spending longer changing back into your clothes than trying on potential new items! I paired my khaki jeans with a loose black top and a striped blazer that I got from the Target kids section! Given I'm only 5 feet I find that I can shop in the kids section and I'm not ashamed to say it. Clothes can be a lot cheaper! For example, I picked this blazer up on sale for only $11 a couple of years ago. It did have heart-shaped pockets but they were easy to remove with an unpicker. I accessorised with a simple silver spiked necklace and wore my black flats (not pictured). 

The end of year financial sales have begun so I did pick up a couple of bargains. From Equip I picked up the mint green and magenta (camera distorted the colour) necklaces for $3.75 and $4.50 respectively, down from $14.99. Bargain! I couldn't decide between the colours so I picked up both. I justified it by telling myself that the cost of both of them was 50% off a full price one. Does that make sense?! haha. The things we do to enable ourselves. 

Highpoint has a Topshop so I HAD to see what they had available. Nothing really grabbed my attention in the clothing section, but I did pick up this Cream Blush in 'Flush' . I was surprised by the price as it was only $12. We all know how Australians get charged a LOT more than America for make-up. Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me, but this price was a pleasant surprise! I will keep you guys posted on whether I like it or not. If I do.. I might be entering dangerous territory and feel the need to pick up every colour! Next on my list to try is their lipsticks. I've heard good things about them so I want to see what the fuss is about for myself!

I dropped by Price Attack to pick up a teasing comb. This blue one was only $4.95 and was the only one they had available in the store. I've always wanted one because my hair is dead straight with little body. I also picked up O.P.I's Can You Tapas This? The sign said it was a discontinued colour and therefore was only $10. We pay $19.95 for an O.P.I nailpolish here in Australia so $10 is a great deal. 

Last but not least was my favourite purchase of the day. It was this grey blazer (boy, do I love my blazers!) from the brand Miss Selfridge. I picked it up from a store called Superglue. I've never seen this shop before but loved it! So many different brands and EVEN a little coffee shop inside! This blazer was not on sale unfortunately and was $75; however, the cut and the fit of the blazer was perfect for me and too good to pass up. I did try it on several times before biting the bullet and purchasing it though.
